Do you have a patient at risk of euthanasia and would like to get them into care quickly? Take a look at our leaflet for clinics.

Since individuals cannot submit a request for assistance, your clinic will have to fill out a form for us to assess the situation.

Our emergency hotline is not intended for intakes, as our volunteers cannot assess requests without a written record. If one of your patients is at risk of death, you must use the form below. It's important that you ask about behaviour: ok with dogs, cats, children?

What do you need?

Partnership

If an animal is surrendered to your facility, it's important to have a contract signed between you and the former family. Subsequently, a transfer agreement can be signed by Mission Mayday and the clinic, so that we can take charge of the animal and its medical records can be transferred to us.

These measures are designed to protect both parties should the former family change their mind and ask for their dog or cat back. Once the animal has been transferred to Mission Mayday, the clinic can no longer make the decision to return it to its former owners.

We understand that many people end up changing their minds or finding the funds once we've accepted the animal into our care, but once the fundraising has been launched, the medical records transferred to our name, and the medical decisions made, we're not comfortable returning the animal to its former family. This protects us if, for example, the former owners do not agree with our medical decisions, or with euthanasia (in the worst-case scenario).

This form is for clinics that would like to entrust us with a dog or cat requiring care in a clinic, so that we can give them a chance. Our team of volunteers will respond to you as soon as possible.

For our partner clinics

Foster families and adopters must go through us for all communications with the clinic. They are not authorized to:

- order medication;

- book appointments;

- change the animal's name on file;

- purchase food without authorization;

- make medical decisions (call us if necessary);

- request transfer or access to file.

After spays/neuters and dental work, the clinic may contact families to plan the pet's discharge. We allow families to take a crate of canned food if recommended during discharge.
