About me
My name is Iglou! I survived life as a stray. I fought for my life for a long time before I was finally rescued and placed in the care of the organization. Despite my past, I love humans. I learn quickly and it's easy to redirect my attention. I've been taught to stay calm while waiting for my meals, and I'm very gentle although sometimes I'm not so delicate: I nibble and climb on people.
I have daily bouts of excitement, but apart from that I'm super relaxed and can easily sleep through the afternoon. I've quickly learned to walk on a leash, although I still pull a little, and I try to eat any food that's lying around because I'm a greedy little thing. I like it when my human gives me treats outside, so this will help my adopters to continue my progress. I'm very calm at the vet's and when I'm being bathed at Mondou. And when I get brushed, a toy is a great distraction!
I enjoy foraging games. I'd love to have interactive bowls to stimulate me mentally! For no reason at all, I sometimes hop up on the counter to "look" at what people are doing or what's on the counter; this only happens occasionally, though. It's really hard for me not to jump on people and gnaw the armrests when someone's working at the computer.
I'm like a puppy in my head, but I'm very adaptable! I'm housebroken, I let myself be handled, and I'm not destructive. I spend the night in my crate without any problem, and I also rest there when the humans are away from home. I like it when we have visitors. I nibble and jump on them to welcome them. You'll have to help me work on this, as I'm a bit intense when I'm excited or want attention!
I had a fracture in one paw that healed badly. Since I've gotten used to my condition and I'm not in pain, the surgeon said we could leave it that way. I only take one flexadin a day to prevent the development of osteoarthritis.
Are you the wonderful human who will offer me the chance to finally have a family of my own? A family for life. A family that will take care of me. I sure hope so!
Cats
I've been with cats before and it went well, so I could certainly have a feline friend.
Dogs
I'm more comfortable with dogs smaller than me, so that would be something to assess depending on the dog.
Other pets
I haven't lived with small animals, but I think I could get along with them.
Kids
I think I'd be nice to them, but I do tend to nibble and jump on everyone.
